Mandy Nicoll - It all begins with an idea.

I’ve chosen this image of Ingólfshöfði in Iceland as my favourite. It was taken from the back of a tractor-pulled hay cart on a trip across the tidal flats to Cape Ingólfshöfði where we able to see and photograph seabirds including puffins and skuas. I took it a few years ago now and love the sense of peace and calm. It is the screensaver on my phone and tablet, and I have a print of it on the wall.

I love to photograph wildlife when on holiday but at home I particularly like photographing horses at work and leisure. However I will try any genre and have been introduced to ICM, street photography and still life since joining the Club. I have also started printing some of my photographs which is really interesting and quite different from seeing images on a screen.

I hate carrying lots of equipment with me and often the only things I remember to pick up apart from my camera are a lens cloth and spare battery.
