Robert Harvey - It all begins with an idea.
Robert Harvey BA ARPS EFIAP is passionate about the natural world, especially photographing landscapes, nature and the night sky. An Associate of the Royal Photographic Society, Robert worked in environmental management for 20 years and more recently as a professional outdoors photographer. His understanding of how landscapes are formed, wildlife ecology and the natural cycles that influence them make for both compelling photographs and fascinating stories behind them. Careful planning to make the best use of light, seasons, weather, sun, moon and tides is the hallmark of his photography. He has had nearly 500 images accepted in international exhibitions and has given over 500 club presentations around the country. Robert says "I have recently taken up drone photography and am fascinated by the different views it gives of the landscape. This image is a stitched panorama showing Old Sarum in Wiltshire, a fascinating archaeological site with layers of prehistory and history over more than two millennia. I chose a frosty morning before sunrise, with mist swirling around, to convey the enigma of the ancient fortifications."
Now he has a drone there is no item that he is never without - sometimes he takes the drone and sometimes traditional camera and tripod!
