Portraits with Impact

Last night we welcomed Emma Finch on Zoom with her talk Portraits with Impact.

Emma is an award winning portrait photographer running several photographic businesses in Manchester.

She showed us many of her fabulous images to illustrate key aspects of her work as a professional portrait photographer like putting her clients/models at ease, how to style a shoot and what to do with the model’s hands, arms, mouth and eyes, all vital for a natural looking result.

Emma clearly has a great rapport with the children she photographs and is quick off the mark to capture some great moments and expressions. Even her photographs of boys, who notoriously hate behaving in front of a camera, were really enchanting!

Emma shared a great deal of information on the technical side of portrait photography including lighting, styling and staging a shoot.

Now a;; we have to do is put some of this into practice!
