Woodland Ways
We had the pleasure of Paul Mitchell FRPS giving us his fantastic talk about his love of the woodland in particular Savernake Forest and the Burnham Beeches, where Paul first began his Woodland photography and intimate landscapes.
The secret of Paul’s composition is the humble view catcher (a simple black frame) which he says is key to seeing the shot without all the clutter. This teamed with a longer focal length really brings the scene to life.
We were then taken on a journey throughout the year showing us some of his favourite forests and what can be achieved if you just stop and look between the trees.
Paul certainly knows his way around a forest and definitely has the weather gods on his side!
