Photographing the Moon in the Landscape

This Months special in-house event for the club’s special Interest Group, was an entertaining talk by Robert Harvey BA ARPS EFIAP CSci CEnv MCIWEM. The subject was how to "Photograph the Moon in the Landscape”, and covered relevant details of location, equipment, aperture, shutter speed, ISO, and focusing. Robert Also discussed suitable apps to aid timing and location; giving a practical demonstration with Glastonbury Tor.

This was great to know because a Major Lunar Standstill is coming! Which provides once-in-19-year photographic opportunities, and all was explained.

Robert Harvey is the author of several books on photography and astronomy including “Photographing the Heavens”, “Night Sky”, “Deep Space and “Solar System”. He is currently commissioned by English Heritage to photograph the imminent Major Lunar Standstill over Stonehenge. More information about Robert can be found on his website.
