Special Interest Group Photowalk around Devizes and Roundway Down

On the longest day of the year, a group of us met up in Devizes on a lovely sunny evening for a Special Interest Group walk around the wonderful architecture that this country town has to offer. We walked a little way along the Kennet and Avon canal before looking at the austere building that is now Wadworth’s brewery but was apparently a prison in days gone by.

We wandered around the market place that houses many listed buildings including the Bear Hotel, an ancient coaching inn and the Corn Exchange, past the town hall to photograph St John’s church looking stunning in the evening light.

For the second part of the evening we drove up to Roundway Down, high above Devizes for a special Solstice Sunset Shoot. We were blessed with a lovely atmospheric sunset before the end of the evening.

I think we all agreed that it was great fun to get together out of season and spend time together doing what we love!
