Sunset and Moon Rise over the Severn Bridge

Caroline Wright led the Special Interest Group on its last trip of the year on Thursday 28th December to Severn Beach, overlooking the Prince of Wales bridge across the Bristol Channel.

With earlier rain and winds with gusts up to 68 knots, the taking of sharp images proved challenging, and some of the best images were taken over 30 seconds.

There was briefly some colour in the sky after sunset, but of more interest was the lightning on the bridge and its refection on the water.

For members who hadn’t been there before, finding the location and coping with the conditions presented a learning curve!
