British wildlife through the Seasons

Kevin Sawford was welcomed to the club joining us in person having travelled all the way from Suffolk to be with us. An official photographer for the RSPB so you may be familiar with some of his endearing animal and bird images on their calendars and publicity.

Kevin Showed us a vast array of British birds and mammals as well as migratory birds. He gave some great tips on how to capture rare moments like the Great Creasted Grebes doing the reed dance or a pair of Gannets courting - it all involves understanding the particular birds behaviour, a great deal of patience and a stroke of luck. Kevin is clearly a vary patient man who has luck on his side as his candid images demonstrate.

Kevin has been awarded the following GDT European Wildlife Photography Awards–Highly Commended British Wildlife Photography Awards–Category winner, Highly commended and Commended images British Photography Awards–Category winner and Finalist Bird Photographer of the Year –Bronze award and Commended images International Garden Photographer of the Year -Runner up, Finalist and Commended image Deer Photographer of the Year –Highly Commended.
