Open Print 01
This week saw the first of two Open print competitions in the season, allowing entries to be judges as three different groups. We welcomed Jay Hallsworth DPAGB EPSA EFIAP/b BPE4 as our judge with a total of just over 80 prints. This is the first time we had increased entries to 4 per member, to counter the drop in digital projected images allowed in other oversubscribed competitions.
For the fifth consecutive week, over 50 members attended the meeting in person with others going on zoom. Jay gave us thorough critiques with advice and tips on how to take our images to the next level. The standard of prints, framing and choice of mounts highly commended by Jay, and there was a definite buzz in the hall all evening. The club were treated to a great selection of genres, exhibiting the broadening of our appeal to local photographers.
Congratulations to all of those who entered, and more so to our winners, those placed and highly commended. Special mention should be given to Mandy Nicoll, Heidi Massey and Nick Barlow. GC
